30 Days of Features- Aristic, a Solo Metal Project from Gothenburg, Sweden.
Aristic is a solo-project founded in 2019 in Gothenburg, Sweden. With the desire to be experimental with his music, Niklas Runstad started his own project where the focus is on letting creativity flow. Not to be limited by any rules.
The music genre is mostly metal. With a structure of metalcore, deathcore and progressive music.
Influences are drawn from all types of rock and metal music. With a taste for experimental artists and bands. Like Jinjer, Periphery, August burns red, Intervals and Veil of Maya. Aristic works with music as an art and therefore there are no limits to what music can be created.
The album, Dimensions is the debut release for Aristic, (2019). The album contains eight songs where each song is featured by an invited vocalist.
After the album release, Aristic has published two guitar playthroughs, (Sirius, Dimensions) and a music video for the track, Fears and convictions.
Where are you band based out of? How many people are apart of the project and when were you formed?
Aristic is a solo project from Gothenburg, Sweden. This is really new! Launched this project in August, this year. There are a lot of people that is a part of this project. I’ve worked with seven different vocalists on my latest album. I have a great producer in Mathias Rexius. A very talented mix/master engineer in Max Maly. And the professional designer, Alexander Buhaj.
Do you have any new releases/albums/music? What is it called, and how would you describe it?
The debut album, Dimensions (2019), is a special project where I’ve invited seven different vocalists from local metal bands in Sweden. Tracks vary a bit in style as I tried to fit the invited vocalist's style. There should be something for every metalcore/deathcore fan in there! Dimensions are about the theory that there are thousands of dimensions. Every decision we make or how a situation result differs in another dimension. If you ever had a near-death experience but just barely made it, you didn’t in another dimension. In a third, you got hurt, and so on. In this eight-track album, each song describes a problem in our world and how we can see the same thing in a million different ways.
How would you explain what your music sounds like, and what would you compare it to sounding like so people could get a better idea of how your music sounds?
I like to experiment with music. It is a way for me to express my experimental ideas. I’m, of course, influenced by music every day - mainly technical music. I like progressive, guitar-focused tracks. But I can see the charm of a simple but swinging song where it is easy to feel the groove. The sound is therefore not set in stone. Although, it will be a mix of metalcore, deathcore and progressive.
I get influenced and would like to compare myself to other experimental bands in the different sub-genres. Veil of Maya is a solid band that makes a lot of re-listenable tracks. August Burns Red have done a lot of experimental interludes featuring banjos and other alternative instruments. Shrezzers has great guitar work with featuring a saxophone Jinjer is a great experimental band that I actually wrote about in this ”under the influence” article - https://metalnoise.net/2019/11/under-the-influence-22-aristic-on-macro-by-jinjer
Are there any goals you have reached for the end of the year that you created at the beginning? And do you have any goals for next year, 2020?
Yes, for sure! I managed to release my album and have been able to reach an audience. My major goal for 2020 is to evolve and I have some surprises to reveal, starting before the year ends.
Do you have anything you would like to tell the public?
I would like to thank everyone who has been listening to Aristic. Be sure to keep you updated as there will be more content incoming on my media. As I mentioned, already before the year ends. Following all social media is the best option to not miss anything.
